Dalry Thistle 3–4 Saltcoats Vics — Ayrshire League Cup, 6 Aug 2012

2 first half goals from Kris Gilhouly the first on 15 mins and the second on 35 with replies from Dalry 0n 18 mins and 44mins put the teams in a half time 2-2. Saltcoats marginally the better side. The second half was only 3 min in when saltcoats regained the advantage after a shot from Slaven was well save, Bell had a go but his shot was deflected to Paul Monan who guided it into the right hand corner to make it 3-2, the score remain like that til the 75th min when Dalry equalized, but it was not level for long as Ally Patrick scored from a free kick 5yards into the Dalry half on 78mins to make it 4-3. Saltcoats were then hemed back for the last 10mins or so but considering they were playing with 9 men they done a fantastic job. Gillhouly was set off on 50mins for a second bookable offence and Weaver on 70min for retalliation. Brian Slaven done a great job in the second half holding the ball up, Paul Weaver was putting in some great crosses with Andy Bell laying off some great balls and the 2 first half goals from Kris Gillhouly were well taken. when Iain Ried replaced Slaven he carried on where Slaven had left, young Raymond Milligan had a good game at the back, but the man of the match has to go to Freddie as he was using the ball well and playing it all over the park. If Saltcoats can play like this for the rest of the season then it is going to be a good season.
