Saltcoats Vics 0–2 Largs Thistle — Ayrshire League Cup, 15 Aug 2012

with a few injury doubts and the first league game on Saturday, Saltcoats started the game with a make shift side to give some of the frindge players a chance and it seems to have back fired to a certain extent. losing goals in the 23rd and 35th mins but more importantly they lost Paul McCann in goal who was sent off on the stroke of half time to be replaced by Bryan Slaven in goal and to his credit Slaven saved the Largs penalty to keep the half time score at Saltcoats 0 Largs Thistle 2

Saltcoats done well to hold Largs in the second half, and a lot of that was down to Bryan Slaven in goal who by all accounts played out of his skin in goal, Michel Holden was doing a great job holding the defence together at the back . the nearest Saltcoats came to scoring was a free kick from Sean Quinn which went narrowly over.
