Kilwinning Rangers 2–1 Saltcoats Vics — SJFA West Region Ayrshire District League, 18 Aug 2012

A tough first league game at Kilwinning, but saltcoats played well and lost by a single goal to a decent Buffs side, Kilwinning started on the front foot and took the game to Saltcoats but were made to huff and puff before they could make the break through on 25mins with a well taken goal from Quinn, after which Saltcoats came more into the game with some good skill coming from Joe Young up front, and Mick Holden and Bryan Slaven playing well down the spine of the team and on half time thier efforts were rewarded with a free kick 20yards out after a foul on Young, which was dispatched well by Ally Patrick to make it 1-1 at the half.

A stuffy second half followed with both teams playing some good football, but it was ex-Saltcoats man Allly Ross who was to get the break through for Kilwinning in the 65th min to make it 2-1, Saltcoats replaced Young and Frye with McLelland and Quinn looking for a equalizer but to no avail final score Kilwinning 2 Saltcoats 1.
