Darvel 2–3 Saltcoats Vics — SJFA West Region Ayrshire District League, 12 Jan 2013

What a great spirited performance the team put in today against a stuffy Darvel side who's season is really over, Darvel to there credit took the lead on 5mins through Hyslop but that lead was only to last 5 mins when Tam McLelland skinned the defender and put over an inch perfect cross for Callum Davidson to make it 1-1. McLelland himself was unfortuate not to get on the scoresheet himself 5mins later when his turn and shot was well saved by the Darvel keeper. But it was to be Darvel who took the lead into half time when Ryan beat the offside trap on 44mins to make it 2-1 to Darvel at the break. in the first half Saltcoats seemed to be at 6's and 7's at times with no one really taking control but they seem to fix it half way through the half and begen to look a better unit.

In the second half Saltcoats played a lot better and had a few chances to score before they did all to the joy of the good Saltcoats support all looking well in thier new Saltcoats Vics scarf, Frye was first to have a shot on 55mins, followed by Ally Patrick headed the went narrowly wide on 58,on 60mins interim manager Rab Latta brought on Joe Young for Paul Ferris followed shortly after with Joe Hands replacing Callum Davidson on 63mins and just about right away Joe Young was unlucky when he hit the post after a 6yard box scramble, but the goal was to come shortly afterwards when Mick Holden headed home an Ally Patrick free kick on 67mins . Adam Easdon then replaced Sean Quinn on 80mins as Latta went for victory, and he was rewarded on 87mins when good work by McLelland and Young resulted in the latter fiering home the winner with 3mins to go to make the final score Darvel 2 Saltcoats 3
