Irvine Vics 1–2 Saltcoats Vics — SJFA West Region Ayrshire District League, 16 Feb 2013

New Saltcoats man Mathew Santos scored a double on his debut to give the seasiders victory and a late goal from the westenders made it a nervy finish. will give you a matdh report once i get it as missed the game today due to work.

Saltcoats today played well through out the match and were well worth the 3 points, in the first half they had the ball in the net from Tam McLelland only for it to be disallowed for offside much to the annoyance of the travelling fans, Santos missed 2 easier chances to score before he did on the half hour to put the seasiders one up before Irvine even had a shot on goal. with man of the match Adam Easdon playing some delightful football, and being assisted well by Calum Davidson and Ally Patrick, and with Santos and McLelland always looking a threat up front Saltcoats were wel on top.

In the second half the game followed much the same, and when Santos made it 2-0 just before the hour mark it was well deserved. Lundy did have one or two saves to make in the second half but delt with what he had well, and  with his defence looking good Saltcoats were looking like a desent outfit. Irvine did come into the the match in the last quarter and when they scored with about 10mins to go you knew it was going to be a nervey finish, but Saltcoats held out well and gained a great 3 points.
