Saltcoats Vics 1–0 Glasgow Perthshire — West of Scotland Cup (SJFA West Region), 23 Mar 2013

Saltcoats played with the wind in the first half and it proved to be a wise decision. this game was played in a biting cold wind and after a night of snow, and most of Glasgow followers were saying they had never felt it as cold, and i dont think they had as they consumed a few pies and bovril before a ball was kicked. So to the game Saltcoats shot towards the slaughter house in the first half and it proved to be a match winning decision, Saltcoats for most of the half had Perthshire pinned back and although Lundy in the Saltcoats goal was called upon now and again it was nothing serious. there were chances for  Mclelland, Young, Davidson and Quinn before the goal did come on 40mins when Mclelland sent Young clear on the edge of the box and as he advanced on the outcoming Keeper he had the sense to square it to Davidson in a much better area to slam the ball home and make it Saltcoats 1 Glasgow Perthshire 0.

The second half was to be a backs against the wall affair with Perthshire having the wind at thier backs, and to thiere credit the whole team done there bit. the only really worrying part af the half was when the ref for some reason saw fit to give Glasgow a penalty when Lundy had clearlly won the ball, but justice was done when it was smacked against the bar and cleared, as the half wore on there was only going to be one winner as the seasiders began to have more of the ball and McLelland especially doing well at holding it up and allowing the defence to get out. A good day for the Vics and an away day at Hurlford in the quarter finals to look forward to after they beat Winton 9-1.
