Lugar Bothwell Thistle 4–1 Saltcoats Vics — SJFA West Region Ayrshire District League, 27 Apr 2013

Saltcoat Vics season ended in a disappointing game at Lugar where the team looked as if the wind had gone out of thier sails and the end could not come quick enough.

Most of the first half was a mid-field battle with Saltcoats being second to most ball, and Lugar were playing most of the football, the goals when they did come in the 34th and 40th mins the second being an own goal by Stewart only showed who had the more determination. Saltcoats did have chances from Quinn on 17mins, Monan was unlucky on 18mins and Ferris had a long range effort on 26mins.

The second half was a little more of a contest, but again Lugar looke more determined and it was no surprise when they increased there lead on the hour mark. Saltcoats did pull a goal back on 65mins when Mark Ferris did well to curl a shot round the keeper from the edge of the area, and for the next 15mins or so Saltcoats looked as if they might by able to stage a come back with Young, Monan and Quinn all going close, but it was Lugar who were to have the last say on 88mins to make the final score Lugar 4 Saltcoats 1.
