Ardeer Thistle 2–1 Saltcoats Vics — SJFA West Region Ayrshire District League, 14 Sep 2013

Saltcoats started this game with a bang scoreing in only the 2nd min through Callum Davidson who fired home a volley after a good cross from Santos on the wing to put Saltcoats 1 up. Then both teams settled and the game became tight and most of the action was in the mid-field, there was chances for both teams with McLelland and Santos both going close but McCann was secure in the Ardeer goal, and Lundy also in the Saltcoats goal with Kean, Colligan and Reid always looking dangerous. On the half hour the sides were back level when Reid beat the off-side to round Lundy and roll Ardeer level. And 10mins later Ardeer went in front after good work by Kean found Colligan who scored to make it Ardeer 2 Saltcoats 1, the first half action wasn't over as McLelland was Red Carded just before the break for taking out of turn at the  ref.

The break gave Ryland time to re-organise his side for the second half, which was again a tight affair, with the mid-feilds again doing most of the work although Ardeer were looking like the team most likely to score using the extra man well. Saltcoats to there credit still went with 2 up front and on the hour mark replaced Quinn with Hart and the striker tried his best to get his team back level. the second half was very stop start with the ref not helping matter and producing the yellow card at the least wee thing mostly for Ardeer players. As the Half wore on Lundy in the Saltcoats goal began to struggle after an earlyier injury in a fifty fifty challenge with Gemmel but Ardeer could not punish him. In the end a fair resultas Ardeer just shaved it but had things been even then a draw may have been on the cards.
