Darvel Juniors 1–3 Saltcoats Vics — SJFA West Region Ayrshire District League, 12 Oct 2013

Report by keano

Saltcoats played well and with a full squad to pick from for just the second time this season they wasted no time in going in front in just 5mins, when Hart fed Santos and he scored off the post to put Saltcoats ahead after having hit the bar in only 2 mins. Santos continued to torment the Darvel defence for the remainder of the game with his speed on the wing, and putting in some good crosses for Hart and Gibson up front.Darvel did come back into it and scored just before the break through Murray Johnston to bring it back level.

When Alister Gaw was disissed just after the break, Darvel were up against it and Saltcoats pinned them back for the whole of the second half, with goals coming from Callum Davidson on the hour and Mick Hart at the death made it three, and secure a good three points for the Seasiders. This was a good all round team performance, but Nikki Smith just shaded man of the match, closly followed by Santos and Patrick, and mention also goes to Steven Gibson and David Cunningham who also played well.
