Saltcoats gained 3 points in this game and were made work very hard for them, with 7 players out due to work or injury it was always going to difficult and so it proved. but all credit must go to the 16 players selcted as they worked hard for each other in terrible conditions and got the job done.

Saltcoats took the lead on 17 mins through a Callum Hercus header form a corner after good work from Patterson, as the rain continued to fall both teams tried to play football, but some times the best tactics in that kind of weather is just to clear your lines, as Saltcoats were to find out mid-way through the half when they were caught trying to play football and Catterson in goal came to the rescue. there was an unsavory incident in the first half involving Santos it ended in 3 players being booked, and this 1 incident was to remain the catalyst for the remainder of the game.

Saltcoats went at Muirkirk for most of the game but it was not until the hour mark that Santos scored number 2 and relieved the tension, and he followed with number 3 10mins later to put the game beyond doubt, but after the game he still recieved harsh words from manager Ryland for not squaring the ball after he had ran half the length of the feild beat half a team, including goalkeeper and tried to score from a tight angle when Paterson was the easy option, but this time we will let him away with it. Muirkirk did pull one back with 5 mins to go but all too late. Both teams ended the game with 10 men, with Muirkirk losing a man just after the break for a bad tackle and he was joined in the club house by Mick Hart for a head butting incident on 75 mins but both dismissals were a result of the already mentioned issue. All in all a great 3 points, and not a bad game in the conditions.
