This game was good advert for junior football with 7 goals, but it showed the differance between the squads as Saltcoats made a change through injury and Winton made tacktical changes and won the game.

Saltcoats started the game with Ally Patrick up front along side Mathew Santos, and for the first 45mins the big man had Winton in all sorts of bother trying to cope with his hight, and with Santos feeding of his knock downs and draging the defence all over. Winton opened the scoring on 15mins from Sean Hainey who scored from about 3yds offside, but give him his dues he played on as Saltcoats defence looked for the whistle to slip the ball by Catterson in the Saltcoats goal, but the lead only lasted 5mins when David Gregory scored at the back post from a scamble from a corner by Monan. Goal number 2 for Saltcoats must be a contender for goal of the season as the build up to the goal saw some delightful football, and a pin point cross from Paul Monan for Ally Patrick to thunder the ball home and give Wardrope no chance on 35mins, and Saltcoats scored a third 5mins later for a 3-1 lead when Santos used his speed to beat both the defence and Wardrope. Winton pulled one back on 42mins through Lee McCrae to send them in at half time on the up.

The second half was controled by Winton, as the Saltcoats team seemed to tire. For the first 25mins of the half it was a tight affair then Adam Easdon picked up a hamstring injury and was replaced with Chris McInnes coming on up front and Monan moving into defence and at the same time Winton brought on George Bonner for kevin Biggart to cancel out any danger Patrick was causing. shortly after an ineffective Joe young was replaced with Greig Mitchell and the game totally changed as Saltcoats looked as if they had given everything and Mitchell took full advantage scoring the third Winton goal and setting up Cashmore for the winner.
