Hurlford United 2–0 Saltcoats Vics — Ayrshire League Cup, 9 Aug 2014

Report by keano

Saltcoats went down to Scottish Cup winners Hurlford 2-0 with the goals coming in the 2nd min and 5 mins from time, and in between there was a very spirited performance from Saltcoats.

The first goal in just 2 mins came from Hurlford's first corner of the game, and Robertson rose unmarked on the 6yard line to bullet a header past Catterson and put Hurlford in front, but the expected onslaught never happened and at times there wasn't a great deal between the sides.

The second goal 5mins from time from Robertson eased Hurlford over the line, and to compound the home sides bad day Kean had his penalty saved by Catterson in the Saltcoats goal a couple of mins from full time, a good all round display by Saltcoats
