Saltcoats Vics 0–4 Irvine Meadow — Ayrshire League Cup, 16 Aug 2014

Report by keano

Saltcoats were today beaten by a better team, and although at time gave a good accout of themselves, the differance was clear to see. 2 goals from Paul McLaughlin in the first 15mins put Meadow in easy street, followed in the second half by goals from McCann on the hour and a final goal from the same player on the full time whistle completed the scoring.

There was some good performances from Saltcoats. especially Black up front who was always on the go and chased down every ball, and may even have scored on more than one occasion, Easdon at the heart of defence was working well, and although he may have been a little more alert at the first goal put in a strong preformance. Catterson in goal also had a reasonable day although he conceeded 4.

Every player today played thier part, and can hold thier heads high as none were disgraced, if the team can get the basic things correct and keep thier confidence high, they can do well this season. when a player comes off the park being disappointed after a good display it shows things are begining to come together, and the more they play together the better things will become.
