Saltcoats Vics 2–1 Craigmark Burtonian — SJFA West Region Ayrshire District League, 25 Apr 2015

Report by Keano

This game in the end was a rather damp squid, as in the beginning Saltcoats started well and were 2 goals up in 15mins through Chris Black and Ryan McKie, and although the score could have been a lot more before the break, a mix of poor finishing and good goal keeping from Douglas in the Craimark goal kept the score at 2-0, Craigmark in the first half offered little attacking options and even when they did get forward Arthur and Whyte were coping easily. In the second half the teams may have swapped sides but the play didn't as Craigmark came a lot more into the game, and just after the hour mark they were awarded a penalty after Dunn was brought down in the box and up stepped trialist Loyd Murphy to make it 2-1 and make the remaining 30mins uncomfortable for the home side.

Saltcoats to thier credit did shut out the game and finish the league season winning but there will have to be a massive improvement against their next opponents or the season will be over.
