Ardeer Thistle F.C. 0–3 Saltcoats Vics — Ayrshire League Cup, 5 Aug 2009

Report by Me

Written by MeSaltcoats chalked up their first win of the season in emphatic fashion tonight at Ardeer Stadium. After a fairly even first half good football eventually paid dividends in the second half with Saltcoats scoring 3 goals in the last 15 mins. The first came in the 76th. min when a great cross from the left was met by Christopher Jones who slammed the ball home. What can you say about the second goal in the 79th.min. Ally Patrick moves to take the free kick, the ball moves towards the net,the goalkeeper realises it's pointless moving to try and save it.....2-0 Saltcoats. Gary Taylor made it 3-0 five mins. later beating the keeper to the ball and sliding the ball into the net. A well deserved goal for Gary after a fine performance. Mr. Patrick almost made it 4 for Saltcoats in the closing stages but his shot whacked against the post . Looking forward to the game against Darvel on Saturday.
