Clayton Smith has become the latest addition to Stevie Wilson's squad as preparations for the 2026/27 season gather pace.
The 28-year-old arrives at Campbell Park with a wealth of Junior football experience, having previously represented Irvine Meadow XI, Kilwinning Rangers and Irvine Victoria. Comfortable operating at both left back and left midfield, Clayton becomes the third new addition to the squad this summer.
Clayton is a player well known to the management team, with the club having attempted to bring him to Saltcoats on more than one occasion in previous years.
Manager Stevie Wilson said:
"Clayton is a player we've tried to bring to the club on a few occasions over the years, so we're delighted to finally get him signed. He brings a wealth of experience to the squad and will be a key player in the dressing room. We're looking forward to working with him this season."
The addition of Clayton further strengthens the squad ahead of the new campaign, adding versatility, experience and leadership as the Vics continue to build for the season ahead.
Everyone at the club would like to welcome Clayton to Campbell Park and wish him every success in maroon and amber.
Clayton is also available for player sponsorship for the 2026/27 season.
Supporters and local businesses interested in backing Clayton can contact the club for more information.
